Varoujan Simonian Obituary

Varoujan Simonian

October 22, 2022

Varoujan was born in Bulgaria on June 16, 1932.  He was the son of Ardem and Simon Simonian. He is survived by his beloved wife, Julieta, sons Krikor (Elise) and Kevork (Kari), grandchildren Shara (Patrick), Stephen (Janelle), Logan, Luke and Jack, and great-grandchildren, Cooper, and Brooks.

After moving to Romania, he met his loving wife, Julieta, and they had their first child, Krikor. In 1965, Varoujan and his family immigrated to the United States. They settled in the Philadelphia area, where they had their second son, Kevork, and remained there for many years raising, enjoying, and loving his ever-growing family with his wife.

Varoujan worked for Quickie Manufacturing as a purchasing agent. He took pride in knowing the catalog number of every mop and accessory they made. He had a very strong memory and a capacity for remembering the smallest of details. Varoujan enjoyed vacationing in the Catskill Mountains with his family and friends and visits with Julieta to Atlantic City to play the slots. His favorite times were spent with his wife and family, gathering to eat, drink coffee, joke and play cards. He had a passion for art and history, watching soccer and football, and enjoyed drawing and listening to classical music.  You could always count on him to turn on some music, sing and dance a little, crack some jokes and test everyone with questions of general knowledge. In retirement, Varoujan and Julieta moved to Paoli where they were centrally located for all family to visit.  Varoujan will be sadly missed and always remembered as a loving husband, father, grandfather, and great-grandfather.

Friends and family are welcome to attend his viewing this Thursday  from 10am to 11am at Vraim Funeral Home, Inc.  66 S. State Rd, Upper Darby, Pa 19082.  His funeral service will follow at 11am.  His interment will take place after the funeral service at Arlington Cemetery.
