Walt was born on April 08, 1931 in Elizabeth, NJ to Walter A. Bieter and Loretta Ungs Bieter.
Walt was a graduate of St Thomas More High School Class of ’49. He graduated from St Joseph
University in Philadelphia Class of ’53, and then served his country as a pilot in the United States Navy
from 1953 to 1955.
After service to his country, Walt attended Drexel University studying industrial engineering. He worked
for Burroughs/Unisys for over 25 years traveling the world performing computer installations.
Following his retirement from Unisys, Walt kept himself busy by working in a local variety store and
driving a school bus for Haverford Township.
Walt was very active with the Boy Scouts of America Troop 468 from 1968 through 2017, holding

During his retirement years, his favorite pastime was being a part of the horse show circuit with his

friends. He also loved building model airplanes and displaying them in the intricate dioramas he
created.
He was a man larger than life and will be sadly missed by his family and friends.
Due to the Coronavirus restrictions, no viewing or funeral ceremony will be conducted. We will hold a
life celebration some time in the future when it is safe for family and friends to gather to remember
Walt and raise a glass of his favorite beer in his honor.
