Wiliam Soufflas Obituary

William “Bill” Soufflas of Broomall, PA, beloved husband, godfather, uncle, and friend, passed away peacefully on November 3, 2025.

Born August 11, 1933, Bill was predeceased by his cherished wife, Pauline (Gouvis) Soufflas. He is survived by his loving goddaughter, Diana (Collias) Palumbo and her husband John, nieces Phaedra, Caterina, Susan, Diane and nephew Peter Gouvis. He also has a son, Jimmy.

Bill was a lifelong Delaware County resident who spent much of his career in the restaurant industry. Together with his father and several of his siblings, he proudly owned and operated George’s Diner in South Philadelphia—a neighborhood staple known for its hearty Greek meals, delicious pastries, and social atmosphere. After his father’s passing in 1986, the family sold the diner, and Bill continued his culinary journey as a chef at a number of country clubs and restaurants across the county. He worked every day into his mid-80s, rarely missing a day of work.

Known for his generosity and love of cooking, Bill delighted in preparing holiday meals for family and friends. His Greek-style lamb chops and salmon were legendary, a reflection of his heritage and his passion for sharing good food.

A proud veteran of the United States Army, Bill lived a life defined by devotion—to his family, his craft, and his church. In his spare time, he enjoyed golf, watching the Eagles, telling stories, and the simple pleasure of good company.
