Thetis G. Crits, founding member of St Luke’s Greek Orthodox Church in Broomall, passed away this past Tuesday at the age of 97. Thetis was beloved wife of George J Crits deceased in 2014. She is:survived by her daughter Katherine Cris-Christoph , her son G. Adam Crits, and three grandchildren Alexander Crits-Christoph, Nicholas Crits-Christoph, and Avery Crits-Christoph.
Thetis graduated with a degree in Education from West Chester University, the first of her family to complete a college degree. She worked as a primary school teacher until she became a mother. She and George married in 1948 and had a long and happy marriage - traveling the world was one of their great joys. Thetis was initially a member of the Ladies Auxiliary of St Luke’s, predecessor to today’s Ladies Philoptochos. She chaired one of the first dinner dances by that group and worked tirelessly for the church. It gave her great happiness to see St Luke’s grow and prosper over the years. In the past year it was harder for Thetis to attend church because she spent most of 2019 in Brigantine where she could be cared for by her daughter Kathy.
