Evelyn Margaret Lang (Escher) was born on January 13th, 1921 to parents Mae and
Fredrick Escher.
She was raised in West Philadelphia where she attended West Catholic high school for
girls.
In March of 1943, she married David Lang while he was home on furlough from the US
Army during the war.
They had two daughters, Carol and Susan, and moved from Philadelphia to the suburbs
in Clifton Heights.
Evenly worked in various places, her longest employment was with Sears.
A member of the Delaware County artist guild, she was a great painter and artist, who
won numerous awards at juried exhibits throughout the area.
She attended art classes at community art centers, including Havertown art center.
Many of her oil paintings are left with family members and friends.
Her husband passed away after 60 years of marriage and she then moved into Riddle
Village in Media until her death on April 4, 2020.
She is predeceased by her husband, two brothers and one sister.
Survivors include two daughters, Carol Lang- Wermuth of Springfield, PA, and Susan
Malone and husband Michael of New Albany, PA. Three grandchildren: Michael
McCarthy, his wife Jessica and two great grandchildren Olivia and Emma; Brian
McCarthy and his wife Marita and two great grandchildren Jameson and Austin;
Rachael Malone.

She loved to go for walks in the woods and wrote beautiful poetry all her life, mostly
about her love of nature and family
There will be a memorial service for her at Vraim Funeral Home in Upper Darby, August
8th , at 11:30 AM.
