Andrea G. Tillis Solomon died unexpectedly in Anne Arundel Medical Center on June 14th in Annapolis, Maryland at the age of 68.

Andrea is survived by her mother, Mary Tillis; husband, Demos Solomon; children, Maria Solomon and Helena Solomon. She is preceded in death by her father, George Tillis.

Andrea was born on February 13, 1948 in Vatili, Cyprus to George and Mary Tillis. Higher education was important to Andrea, and she put herself through school while working full time. She received her undergraduate degree from Long Island University, graduated from law school at St. Johns University, and received her LLM in taxation from Villanova University. She married Demos Solomon in 1976, and they lived together in Drexel Hill, Pennsylvania. The couple welcomed two beautiful daughters into their home. Her family remembers her as a driven and dedicated wife and mother, and an ambitious woman who was unique and one of a kind.

Andrea was an accomplished attorney, and a member of the New York and Pennsylvania State Bars, having passed both bars on her first attempt. She was an intelligent individual who loved her family and who was passionate about raising her girls to be true to their Greek heritage. She was also an animal lover, and her dogs White Sox, Sydney, Red Sox, Hermes and Aten brought her great happiness.

The viewing is scheduled at St. Luke’s Greek Orthodox Church in Broomal for June 17th at 10:00 am with the funeral to follow at 11:00 am. All are welcome to attend and celebrate Andrea’s life. In lieu of flowers, please send donations in her name to the ASPCA at https://secure.aspca.org/donate/memorial. Condolences can be written for the family at http://www.vraimfh.com/notices/Andrea-TillisEsq/guest-book.
